How does NAVTEQ Map24's new search with the single input field work?
|
|
NAVTEQ Map24's new search allows you to search for addresses and millions of other points of interest with a single input field the easiest way.
To search for an address you can enter the city, postcode, street and house number into the search field. The search treats the input the same. For example:
- Berlin Hauptstr 5
- Hauptstr 5 Berlin
You can separate your entries by spaces, commas or the like.
Calculate quickly a route by entering the starting point into the search field and the destination into the route field. Just confirm your route by clicking on "GO!".
Tip: Using your MyMap24 address book
Additionally, if you have a MyMap24 account you can select addresses from your address book by clicking on the book button on the left side of the search field. To use this function, please login to MyMap24 first.

How do I search in other countries or on other continents?
|
|
NAVTEQ Map24 provides you a world map.
If you perform a search, all covered countries and cities in the whole world will be searched. So you do not need to specify the country in which your indicated city is located.
The search also knows the international names of many cities, for example Krakau <> Krakow.

Can I search for points of interest?
|
|
Points of interest (POI) are an added feature to our maps. Using this feature, you will find restaurants, hotels, hospitals, tourist attractions and many other locations . The easiest way to find a point of interest is to specify its name and the city. Example:

How do I save my address search?

You can save up to ten addresses in your personal MyMap24 address book. After logging in to MyMap24 and searching for an address please click on “Save to MyMap24 address book” on the options page
or on the tooltip.
You can add or change information to the address before saving it.
To use your MyMap24 address book you need to have a MyMap24 account. If you don't have one yet, you can easily create a free account. Just click
here to registrate on MyMap24.

How can I send an address to a friend via email?
|
|
Under the “options” of an address you will find the link “Mail link to a friend”.
After clicking on it you can enter the email addresses of up to 10 recipients (please separate the email addresses by semicolons). Please enter your email address into the second entry field. Finally, add your personal comment in the third field. Then click on “send message” and all recipients will receive your message as well as a link to your search result and the corresponding map by email.

I have searched for an address. Can I also calculate a route to this point?
|
|
Also this is possible with NAVTEQ Map24. After searching for an address, click on “Options”. On the following page, click on “set as destination for route planning” and enter the start address into the search field that is appearing.
Of course, it is also possible the other way round: choose “Set as start for route planning” and enter your destination into the entry field that is appearing.

What does “URL to this page” mean?
|
|
Do you easily want to recover your search results and the corresponding map? Or maybe you would like to send it to a friend? “URL to this page” then is the right thing for you. Simply click on the link with your right mouse button and choose “Copy shortcut” (Internet Explorer) or “Copy link location” (Firefox). You can then paste the link into an email or into a document by right-clicking and selecting “paste” or pressing ctrl+v on your keyboard.
